The Senior Staff Accountant will provide organizational and administrative support to the hospital in the finance areas. Completes monthly journal entries and annual audit and budget support. In addition, this position will assist with various tasks and projects as assigned by the CFO and assist employees and Department Managers with finance inquiries. Always maintains the highest level of customer service, confidentiality and security. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS WEIGHT I ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES Manages the time and attendance process, updates and addresses related issues. Communicates payroll policy and practice changes, and assists CFO and employees with inquiries. Stay abreast of best practices, current laws and regulations to ensure hospital is compliant and meets state and federal guidelines as pertains to payroll and fringe benefits. Responds to outside agency inquiries (Internal Revenue Service, State Department of Treasury, Colorado Hospital Association, Division of Labor, etc.) including Worker's Compensation Audits. Conducts internal audits as needed for payroll, benefit deductions, status changes, or payroll related items. Responsible for processing and accounting for fixed assets. Prepares monthly Databank reporting for the Colorado Hospital Association. Monthly reconciliation of multiple balance sheet accounts such as cash, fixed assets, and accruals. Prepare monthly journal entries related to cash, payroll, accruals and re-classes. Demonstrates proficiency in preparing financial statements, with particular emphasis on Balance Sheet items. Participates in preparation of annual financial audit. This includes reconciliation of accounts, and preparation of audit schedules. Various payroll and finance related duties as requested by the CFO.
