Summary

The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, and coordinate the policies, activities, and payroll and administrative staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organizations mission and talent strategy.

The pay range for this position starts at $95,437, actual pay will be dependent on budget and qualifications.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy related to staffing, recruiting, and retention.
  • Helps to plans, coordinate, and implement policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Administers human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies and leads staffing and recruiting needs for roles within specific division.
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; works with VP of HR to review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Oversees the payroll function; audits and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes and other deductions.
  • Facilitates professional development and training activities.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
    • At least seven years of human resources experience required
    • At least three years of human resource management experience required
    • Hospitality experience preferred
    • SHRM-CP or PHR highly preferred
    • Corporate HR experience preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
    • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations required
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems
      Additional Information

      Supervision given and received

      Supervision given: Exercises limited supervision over HR Admin and Payroll Staff. Assigns result driven projects, and assists with unusual situations that do not have clear objectives. Instruction, advice and assistance available at request of employee. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, interviewing, hiring, performance evaluation; recognition; disciplinary action; training and development, budgeting, and labor relations.

      Supervision received: Works under limited supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources. Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and is responsible for establishing strategical methods to attain them. Can formulate policies but does not necessarily have final authority for approval. Review of work is not detailed and emphasizes accomplishment of broad work objectives, rather than specific assignments.

      Work Environment and physical demands

      Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements. No adverse or hazardous conditions. Not required, but preferred to be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 lbs. individually or with assistance. All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
