The current portfolio includes Limelight Hotel Aspen and Limelight Hotel Snowmass in Colorado; and the Limelight Hotel Ketchum near Sun Valley in Idaho. Limelight Hotel Denver will open in 2023, and two additional Limelight Hotels in Mammoth, California, and Boulder, Colorado, are slated to open in 2024 and 2025, respectively. Job Description

The Sustainability Manager helps to coordinate and administer the sustainability and philanthropic efforts within the division through outreach, advocacy, communication, education and behavior change initiatives. The position develops effective partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, driving and achieving sustainability targets.

The pay range for this position is between $57301 to $70,802. Actual pay will be based on budget. All salaried exempt positions are eligible for bonus. This position can be based in Denver or Aspen with a willingness to travel between hotel locations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Undertake assessments to ascertain the hospitality division's sustainability performance.
  • Identifying areas where the business could improve its sustainability practices while balancing business goals.
  • Participating in site inspections and producing sustainability reports for the hospitality division with research-backed recommendations.
  • Ensuring legal compliance, keeping up to date with relevant legislation, and advising where necessary.
  • Continuous auditing to ensure all measures are implemented and supporting departments to make necessary changes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress, collecting feedback from colleagues, and refreshing policies to ensure the division remains on track for its economic and sustainability goals.
  • Liaising with different stakeholders from senior management to the general public.
  • Designing and coordinating training sessions to update employees on new procedures and practices.
  • Operating as a point of contact within the business for all sustainability-related questions.
  • Working with relevant teams on marketing strategies to promote the division's sustainability projects.
  • Hosting external workshops to inform various audiences of the business' sustainability initiatives.
  • Researching the latest technologies to help cut or reduce carbon emissions.
  • Finding suitable offsetting solutions that align with company values.
  • Establishing relationships with media outlets to promote corporate social responsibility projects.
  • Administers and manages the various philanthropic foundations within the division.
  • Collaborates with HR on division-wide volunteer program.
  • Supports and helps develop the division-wide philanthropic initiatives.
  • Manages the fund allocations for the various foundations; responding to donation requests and allocating funds based on the company philanthropic guidelines.
  • Ensure efficient and effective philanthropic efforts and streamlined administrative processes and procedures. Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in science, public policy, environmental studies or related field
    • 2 plus years of similar work experience
    • Experience in public speaking and writing
    • Experience with green building
    • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, work cross-functionally and think both critically and strategically
    • Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with all levels of the organization and lead where appropriate
    • Strong collaborative skills to work across multiple stakeholder groups to translate business strategies, initiatives, goals and objectives into project proposals
    • Excellent quantitative/qualitative skills with the ability to present and communicate ideas in all forms
    • Strong leadership skills to motivate, inspire and facilitate individuals and teams to take responsibility and accountability for the goals
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret vast amounts of data
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments with demanding time constraints
    • Organizational skills appropriate to managing philanthropy, including basic Excel and accounting

      Physical Demands

      The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
