Description:The Steadman Clinic is looking for an athletic
trainer that enjoys living in a beautiful mountain town and is
passionate to work with high school athletes in a variety of
sports. Aspen, Colorado is one of the premier ski and snowboard
destinations in the world, and its public school offers a variety
of sports to the local community which notably includes hockey,
alpine and Nordic skiing, golf, swim and dive, lacrosse and
football. The high school is located at the base of Aspen Highlands
ski mountain and was ranked in the top 3% of public high schools in
the United States for its students academic performance. The
athletic trainer will be responsible for the sports medicine
program and coverage of all high school athletic department
activities at Aspen High School (AHS). The athletic trainer will
provide Athletic Training Services to student athletes under the
direction of the Medical Director and in accordance with state
athletic training practice act. The athletic trainer will play a
vital role in the communication and the relationship between The
Steadman Clinic, Aspen School District, Aspen High School and the
community.Additional job responsibilities will include; athletic
training coverage as needed and assigned by the director of
athletic training for the outreach program, teaching and lecturing
for sports medicine/health/anatomy & physiology/strength
&conditioning in the school and community, and development and
implementing a student athletic training program.The position
includes day, evening and weekend coverage for high school
athletics and community outreach coverage year-round. Position
includes coverage of all high school home practices during the
weekdays (non-holiday), all home games, football home and away
games, hockey home games and post-season (playoff) travel as
needed. Position includes additional sports medicine/first
aid/marketing event coverage as assigned by director of athletic
training.The Certified Athletic Trainer, Aspen High School, is a
mid to high-range role with the expectation of operating with
advanced level skills and knowledge, independent execution,
execution of complex tasks, with high impact on athlete/patient
care.Location: Aspen - with travel for game and practice
coverage.Classification: Full time, Year Round, ExemptSchedule:
Work hours will vary week to week and flexibility with schedule is
required. Work hours may include early mornings, evenings, and
weekends.Tentative start date: Summer 2024 - Applications for this

inclusive):High School Athletic Coverage:Provide daily athletic
training services to student-athletes participating in CHSAA
athleticsProvide emergency care and first aidConcussion management
program including, education, prevention program, evaluation,
documentation, referrals, management, protocol updates, return to
play progression and communicationDocumentation of all injuries,
treatments, return to play progressions, referrals, rehabilitation,
health records and communicationResearch data collectionInjury
prevention, management and treatmentDemonstrate and documenting
value of athletic training position thru revenue tracking and
reimbursementCommunication with athletes, parents, medical
director, healthcare professionals and school staff and administers
(HIPPA and FERPA compliant)Supply and budget managementOrganizing
and assisting with pre-participation physicalsComply with policies
and proceduresDevelop rehabilitation, return to play and strength
and conditioning programsManage and document injury/illness
referralsAthletic Training Outreach Coverage:Provide athletic
training coverage for outreach program as needed and scheduled by
Director of Athletic Training. May includes evenings, weekend, and
holiday coverage.Utilize injury tracking software for proper and
timely documentation of all injuries and treatmentsProvide
patient-centered care to athletes/participants according to all
policies and procedures written in the athletic training handbook
and organizers policies and proceduresEffective and timely
communication with other staff athletic trainers, physical
therapist, patients families, school and organizations regarding
injuries and treatmentsProvide first aid and emergency careProvide
athletic training servicesManage participant/athlete
referralsCommunity Outreach and MarketingTeaching/lecturing at high

at eventsAdministrative duties:Organizing and assisting with
pre-participation physicals.Document all patient
encounters.Maintaining and organizing documentation related to past
medical history, pre-participation physicals, emergency contacts,
and injury tracking software.Injury reporting/data collection both
internally and externally using appropriate communication chain,
and in compliance with national and international
regulations.Create and maintain emergency action plans at all
events and venues.Organize and lead interdisciplinary team meetings
concentrating on individualized health, safety, and progression of
athletes.Create safe and inclusive environments for
athletes.Requirements:Masters degree in athletic training or
related field, highly preferred.BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, in
good standing.Current Colorado state licensed athletic trainer,
valid with DORA, or the ability to obtain license prior to start
date.CPR/BLS for healthcare provider.SafeSport Certification (Core
Training and Health Professional)Experience in
lecturing/teaching.Experience with concussion management and
maintaining compliance to related regulations.FMS Level-1 and
NASM-PES or NSCA-CSCS, highly preferred.Mental Health First AidMust
maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent
and collegial working relationship with other Steadman Clinic,
Steadman-Philippon Research Institute, and hospital personnel in
involved in delivering patient care.Previous experience working
