Employee Housing Assistant

Job Description:

########### Assist the Director of the Employee Housing Department in all related maintenance issues. Including but not limited to upkeep of buildings and grounds, lawn, landscaping, maintenance, snow removal, and repair and general upkeep of all Employee Housing units owned or leased by Aspen Valley Hospital. Assists the Employee Housing Manager in enforcing rules and regulations. ########## Actively supports the hospital#s overall philosophy by striving for quality assurance, professional development, interpersonal relations and time management. #Primary Scope of Responsibilities: Utilization of Preventive maintenance and work order systems Conduct day to day operations. Properly performs preventive maintenance and/or operational tests in accordance with JCAHO, HFPA guidelines or per AVH policies. Records pertinent documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements, professional standards and hospital policy. Adheres to federal, state and hospital rules and regulations concerning HIPAA privacy and security. Follows Hospital compliance plan and policies, including the Code of Conduct. Participates in required training for compliance related activities (HIPAA, Compliance, Patient Safety, TJC, etc.) Accurately records in logs, PM sheets, work orders, etc. work accomplished, time and materials, corrective actions and date of completion. Consistently maintains and repairs equipment or systems utilizing proper tools # materials. Performs daily inspection of equipment and systems while in operation to verify proper operation.# Investigates abnormal or unusual conditions. # POPULATION SPECIFIC CRITERIA Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with customers of all ages, recognizing language and learning barriers, and technology challenges. Able to state his/her duties during a code pink drill. Minimum Qualifications: Strong interpersonal skills required Ability to work independently required Ability to lift 50 pounds required Ability to read and communicate effectively in English required 3-5 years# work experience in a technical field or facility maintenance preferred Previous hospital experience preferred Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail Relatively high degree of analytical abilities Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures Education/Certification Requirements: High school education and trade or technical school (preferred) # Working Conditions: Work is often performed in extreme temperatures ranging from over 100F (boiler room) to -20F (snow removal) May be exposed to communicable diseases through normal or careless performance of responsibilities May be exposed to mechanical dangers associated with mechanical devices May be exposed to stressful situations Exposure to loud noises and the danger of electrical shock Previous relevant#experience would include (not required): Property Management, property manager, engineer, maintenance, mechanic, service#technician, engineering department, engineering manager, general laborer.# Assist the Director of the Employee Housing Department in all related maintenance issues.
