Job Description:

The Environmental Services Supervisor provides operational support by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department to ensure compliance with all AVH and The Joint Commission standards. Primary Scope of Responsibilities: Staff Development # Ensure that staff members are aligned with department and organizational goals. Provide continued educational opportunities including training of new hires to support those goals. Ensure that EVS employees are current on all of the required position competencies and healthstreams. Departmental Quality # Performance Improvement # Develop and implement strategies to continually improve quality and performance of the department as it relates to the mission and goals of the organization. Participate in the department#s performance improvement activities. Provide leadership and guidance to departmental staff.# Monitor daily work practices and production. Ensure that quality standards are met by inspecting completed work. Create work lists for EVS staff. Assess building conditions daily.# Report deficiencies to appropriate department directors. Assist the EVS Director and Lead EVS person in completing performance evaluations. Regulatory # Accreditation Compliance - Develop and implement all Department policies and procedures. Create and maintain laundry weight spreadsheets. Process and order supplies to keep an adequate stock of cleaning supplies on hand. Create and maintain staffing schedule for all buildings we service. Manage staff timecards. Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality. Maintain proficiency in all techniques and equipment used by the EVS department. Ensure Infection Control Stations are adequately stocked at all times. Make recommendations to the EVS Director for changes in supplies, equipment or procedures to improve safety and patient care or to reduce costs, while maintaining safety and patient care. Ensure all equipment is tested regularly. Maintain good working relationships with all departments. Investigate, document, and report all unusual occurrences to the EVS Director. Work with EVS Lead to ensure appropriate scheduling of staff and coverage of facility. Represent and participate in committees as assigned by the EVS Director. Participate in infection prevention and control programs. Assist EVS Director in developing department#s annual budget. Assist EVS Director in meeting compliance with federal, state, local regulations and accrediting organization standards.# Maintain records of regulatory requirements. Assist in development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures and standards of work. Effectively and consistently communicates administrative directives to staff and encourages interactive departmental meetings and discussions. # POPULATION SPECIFIC CRITERIA Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with customers of all ages, recognizing language and learning barriers, and technology challenges. Able to state his/her duties during a code pink drill. # Minimum Qualifications: 3-4 years of progressive responsible related work experience necessary to gain full knowledge of laundry operations, commercial equipment, personnel utilization and cost effective methods of operation is required Ability to concentrate and show attention to detail required Relatively high degree of analytical abilities required Strong interpersonal skills required Ability to work independently absolutely required Ability to read and communicate effectively in English Bi-Lingual in Spanish highly desirable Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) # Education/Certification Requirements: High School degree preferred # Working Conditions: # Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust and temperature # May be exposed to communicable diseases through normal or careless performance of responsibilities # May be exposed to mechanical dangers associated with mechanical devices Previous experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor strongly preferred. #The Environmental Services Supervisor provides operational support by overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department to ensure compliance with all AVH and The Joint Commission standards.Primary Scope of Responsibilities:
