OVERVIEW OF JOB DUTIES : ( See full Job Description for

Responsible for planning, development, execution, and management
of all activities within the vehicle maintenance department.
Responsibilities of this position include the oversite of a
comprehensive program for the service, maintenance, and repair of
all RFTA automotive and transit equipment, which includes a fleet
of over 120 transit buses, vans, and para-transit vans, and over 40
non-revenue support vehicles. RFTA's fleet includes diesel, CNG
Natural Gas, and battery-electric buses. Additionally, this
position is responsible for the oversight and management of all
transit vehicle procurement and RFTA's Parts department.
1. Directs, oversees, and monitors all vehicle maintenance
operations and activities.
2. Ensures all vehicles are fully operational, reliable,
comfortable, safe, and clean for patrons and employees.
3. Organizes, schedules, supervises and reviews staff
activities; provides training in the maintenance and repair of
transit vehicles. Hires, disciplines, and approves leave of
employees. Maintains related employee records.
4. Develops, implements, and maintains the Department budget
based on staffing and resource requirements.
5. Procures new transit equipment. Responsible for writing
specifications and managing the procurement process of transit and

Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or public
administration, mechanical or industrial engineering, or a related
10 years' experience in progressively responsible positions to
provide an extensive background in transit fleet maintenance,
including a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience is

repair shop management, hazards and safety requirements of
large-scale shop operations, and business procedures applicable to

JOB CLASSIFICATION, JOB LOCATION AND WORK SCHEDULE :
Full-time Year-Round Position; office and primary location will
be in both Aspen and Glenwood Springs.
SALARY RANGE : Salary range $97,178 to $150,634, based on
knowledge, skills and experience. Position includes full benefits
