Job DescriptionThe Payroll Manager will oversee and administer the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.This role typically pays around $74,565, actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience, all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.Essential Job Functions Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates. Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. Identifies and recommends updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required. Two years of related experience processing payroll for organizations with over 1,000 employees required. Certification as a Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Certified Payroll Administrator (CPA) preferred. Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Proficient with payroll softwareAdditional InformationSupervision given and received Supervision Given: This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Supervision received: Works under general supervision of Managing Director of Human Resources. Receives continuing or individual assignments according to supervisor's directions and may perform routine tasks. Expectations of the quality, quantity and deadlines are clearly set. Instructions, advice and assistance available as needed. Work is reviewed on demand or during scheduled check-ins.Work environment and physical demands Ability to stand, type and sit at desk/computer for most of the work shift executing repetitive movements. No adverse or hazardous conditions.
