This Position Offers:
This position is PRN status.
The Chemo/Infusion RN, provides professional nursing care in
accordance with known/accepted standards of practice and AVH
policy. Utilizes the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement and
evaluate nursing care. Works in support of the medical staff
treatment plan and makes recommendations for changes to medical
treatment plan as appropriate. Educates patients and family around
the plan of care and disease management. Actively supports the
nursing philosophy by striving for excellence in patient care,
professional development, interpersonal relations, time management,
and continuous quality improvement. The Chemo/Infusion RN, under
the supervision of the Oncology Nurse Practitioner and the Clinical
Director of Outpatient Clinics assists with the daily operations of
the clinic including: patient care and education, triaging
telephone calls, assisting with scheduling and billing of
procedures, and preparing and maintaining medical records for the
Primary Scope of Responsibilities:
- Fully competent in the primary nurse role on unit; performs
patient and family assessment and problem identification, plans
care accordingly; implements and evaluates plan of care, so that
problems are resolved.
- Records pertinent clinical documentation in accordance with
regulatory requirements, professional standards and hospital policy
and scans documents appropriately. In the Chemo/Infusion Clinic,
documentation includes the face sheet, medication reconciliation,
and patient summary after the 3rd visit, patient assessment and
care form, medication refill, and patient education.
- Prioritizes patient situations and takes appropriate action in
an efficient, effective manner.
- Responds to clinical needs of patients in accord with
experience, nursing standards, and hospital/nursing policies and
- Makes value-added resource decisions for patient care with
respect to supplies, equipment, and acuity of care.
- Assists with receptionist/scheduling duties as needed including
preparing medical records, filing, scheduling appointments, and
- Care requires competency in Meditech and Galactica to obtain
results and charge appropriately.
- The Oncology RN provides individualized assistance to patients
and their families and coordinated care for the patient to
facilitate clinical and supportive care services.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Current Colorado RN License (or Compact) required
- ONS Chemotherapy course completion within 3 months of hire
- Oncology Nurse Certification preferred within 2 years of
- Required certifications through American Heart
Benefits & Compensation:
Our hire-in rates of pay are based on years of relevant experience.
Listed below are our hire-in rates for the position, which
includes: minimum pay (no relevant experience) and mid-point (12 or
PRN Minimum = $34.27/hr
PRN Mid-Point = $44.57/hr
