High Country Brewing owns Aspen Brewing Co, Aspen Tap and Capitol Creek Brewing in the Aspen/Roaring Fork Valley. We currently have an opening for Brewmaster operating our 7 BBL brewhouse at Capitol Creek Brewing. You would join the brewing team of an extremely well-respected brewery operation in Basalt, Colorado. You would also be part of the production team that manages multiple brands at our Aspen Brewing location. Capitol Creek has a reputation as one of the best quality breweries in western Colorado, producing about 400 barrels annually. We've garnered a strong following for our unique beer styles including Belgian, fresh hop, barrel aged and traditional styles focusing on locally produced hops, malt, botanicals and yeasts. - - - - - -From a lifestyle perspective, the brewery is located in the Roaring Fork Valley (Aspen) and is surrounded by great skiing, snowboarding, mountain climbing and is home to one of the only Gold Level certified mountain biking areas in the world.As we own the only 2 licensed breweries in the Aspen area, there is tremendous room for growth in the organization as we launch more brands and are a very important part of the community as one of its largest employers and, more importantly, the only place to get great craft beer!If you feel you could be a fit to join the team, please submit your background and skills. -Responsibilities & Duties: - - - - - - - -Strict adherence to brewery safety guidelines - - - - - - - -Thorough understanding of all brewhouse operations, vessels, and CIP procedures - - - - - - - -Maintain a clean working space with implementation of sanitary procedures - - - - - - - -Keep accurate and organized production records - - - - - - - -Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair standard brewery & packaging equipment - - - - - - - -Maintain a brewing production schedule - - - - - - - -Track and maintain accurate inventory of raw materials, supplies, and finished beer - - - - - - - -Produce wort, monitor fermentation, add dry hops/fruit/other to tanks Safely remove spent grain from the mash/lauter tun - - - - - - - -Yeast management - including the harvesting, cell counting/viability check, and pitching of yeast from a brink - - - - - - - -Be a communicative team-player and interact with employees at all levels within the organization - - - - - - - -Adhere to all applicable local, state, & federal laws, rules, and regulations - - - - - - - -Willingness to represent the brewery at beer festivals & other brewery events - - - - - - - -Other tasks may be assigned as needed -Qualifications: Minimum 1 year commercial brewing experience on a 7bbl or larger system Proficiency using a computer/tablet and able to utilize programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, etc) as well as web-based office tools like Google Docs, Slack, etc. Ability to maintain a positive and productive demeanor focused on company goals Ability to work independently with attention to detail and with a mind for continuous improvement
