Job Title: General ManagerReports to: Director of
OperationsEmployment Status: Full-Time, Exempt-SalaryAt MML
Hospitality we are on a mission to create nationally and
internationally recognized and celebrated hotels and restaurants.
We believe in a seamless combination of food, service, and design,
led by powerhouse restauranteurs Larry McGuire & Tom Moorman and
visionary hotelier Liz Lambert. We create refined hospitality
through attention to detail, storytelling, and extraordinary dining
and retail experiences. MML is expanding at a steady pace. We
currently manage and own the 75-room Hotel Saint Vincent in New
Orleans, and we have two hotel projects in development in Aspen and
in Austin that we will also own and manage. In addition to the
nearly twenty restaurants, we currently operate or have under
development, MML is also the F&B consultant at the Austin
Proper Hotel, overseeing three restaurants, banquets, and in-room
dining across the property. MML has a unique plan to own and
operate each of its properties and the financial backing to only
take on special projects in places we want to spend time. We are
looking for a team leader and project manager who is experienced,
energetic, detail-oriented, analytical, rigorous, highly organized,
and passionate about hospitality. This Individual should also
create a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and
teamwork. Essential Functions and Duties:The position of General
Manager is an overall leadership position responsible for the
overall quality of guest experience, food & service, financial
performance, and maintenance of the property and all staff within
it.What we are looking for:Creative input in all areas of service,
products, and atmosphere; includes overseeing the implementation of
service standards and training manuals for each position and each
outletFront-of-House hiring, retention, and schedulingStaff
training, mentorship & development, and moraleEnsure profitability
by maintaining an accurate record of baking operations.Manage
needed supplies and inventory levels.Direct and supervise the
production staff's activities to make sure that products are up to
standards.Development of training manuals, SOPs, and
timelinesMaintain standards of service to industry relevance,
growth, profitability, and all-around qualityEmbody and model the
leadership and accountability that you will hold your team
toEstablishment and execution of product cost, labor cost, and
expense goals for all departments and outlets within the guidelines
and assistance of the MML Executive TeamManagement development and
creation of systems for hiring & reviews; mentorship and training
of existing and new management to encourage company and personal
growth in all hospitality skills: operations, floor management,
administrative duties, and daily serviceOverall building &
equipment maintenanceBookkeeping and bill payment, understanding &
ownership of the PnL; establish clear and consistent day-to-day
communication of finances and performance with the MML Executive
Team and Louis Swiss staff and partnersCreation of strong
communication and teamwork with BOH chefs and hourly staff and the
MML Team via daily Avero notes, emails, and verbal
communication.Create and sustain a strong and meaningful
professional relationship with MML PartnersParticipate in and
contribute to creative strategies to help grow the current business
at Louis Swiss including programming and incentives to drive
trafficCapture and retain regular guestsNurture the previous
clientele and continue to create new connections in the local
communityMaintenance of Restaurant to MML & County Health
Department StandardsWork a minimum of 50 hours per week
Requirements:
Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written
communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service
skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to
detail.Working understanding of human resource principles,
practices, and procedures.Excellent time management skills with a
proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to function well in a
high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with
Microsoft Office SuiteBachelor's degree in human resources or
related field and/or equivalent experience.Education and
Experience:Four years of progressive experience in high-volume food
production or cateringAt least 3 years of previous high-level
experience in a well-established restaurantAn equivalent
combination of relevant education and/or experience
consideredAbility to work in a high-stress environmentPhysical
